DC is a highly underrated shopping town, especially in downtown, Chinatown, Tenleytown and Georgetown. All the towns, really. Union Market, Eastern Market…all the markets too.
Secretly, downtown DC has emerged as a center of boutique and destination shopping. Big names like Louis Vuitton, Dior and Gucci (racked.com/maps/best-shopping-in-washington-dc) have come to town, joining established, locally founded big names like Barry Beck of Bluemercury (washingtonian.com/2014/01/09/5-things-i-cant-live-without-bluemercury-cofounder-barry-beck/) to create a walkable shopathon scenario for men and women like me who are constantly inclined to get out there and coo at the latest fashions and greatest deals.
